This book intends to introduce the basic concepts and principles of Synthetic Manual Medicine, which mainly through therapeutic techniques for musculoskeletal system, deal with somatic dysfunctions. Synthetic Manual Medicine, which is a branch of complementary alternative medicine, has no intention and is not possible to replace conventional medication. In fact, we do seek to combine the best idea and practices of conventional medicine and hope to provide an alternative choice to patients. Plenty of photographs with illustrations and tables are employed, intending to help beginners understand more easily and have better memories of the hardly understandable medical terminology. Each chapter introduces one therapeutic technique of Synthetic Manual Medicine. The history and key therapeutic principles of each technique would be introduced. Our goal is to prepare an organized text that might serve as textbook or reference for the students of Synthetic Manual Medicine as well as practicing physicians.
